چکیده
Abstrad--Scalar measurements at 1.3 pm of high-speed ( > 20 GHz -3-dB optical bandwidth) photodetector transfer function magnitudes by swept frequency and short pulse (<3-ps FWHM) response techniques are presented and shown to be in excellent agreement to beyond 30 GHz. Scalar deconvolution is used to obtain photodetector response from the pulse response measurements with effects of the measurement apparatus removed. fects of their respective measurement systems. After these corrections we find close agreement between results obtained using the two techniques.

Fast UV detection by Cu-doped ZnO nanorod arrays chemically deposited on PET substrate
Well-aligned Cu-doped ZnO nanorods were successfully synthesized on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate using chemical bath deposition method. The structural and optical properties of Cu-doped ZnO nanorods were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy...
متن کاملDesign and Application of a Photoacoustic Sensor for Monitoring the Laser Generated Stress Waves in Optical Fiber
Measurement of stress transients generated by a 400ns pulsed HF laser in an infrared fluoride glass fiber has been made using fast time – response piezoelectric film transducer. Acoustic signals up to 12 mV with frequencies ranging in megahertz generated by 21 mJ laser pulse when passed through the fiber axis in the linear region. It is shown that useful information such as onset of non - linea...
متن کاملPhase calibration of hydrophones: heterodyne time-delay spectrometry and broadband pulse technique using an optical reference hydrophone
Two hydrophone calibration techniques are presented which provide amplitude and phase of hydrophone sensitivity. Heterodyne time-delay spectrometry can be applied in the frequency range from 0.5 to 50 MHz to all common hydrophones but needs a standard to obtain absolute values. A pulse technique between 1 and 70 MHz allows exploiting of an optical multilayer hydrophone as a phase standard. In c...
متن کاملUltrafast response of monolayer molybdenum disulfide photodetectors
The strong light emission and absorption exhibited by single atomic layer transitional metal dichalcogenides in the visible to near-infrared wavelength range make them attractive for optoelectronic applications. In this work, using two-pulse photovoltage correlation technique, we show that monolayer molybdenum disulfide photodetector can have intrinsic response times as short as 3 ps implying p...
متن کاملStatistical Nature of the Infrared Heterodyne Signal ' ' )
1 HETERODYNE detection is a process which has been used in the radiowave, microwave, 1 and optical regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. Recently, the technique has been extended to the middle infrared as well [I-31. This paper discusses theoretical and experimental considerations related to the signal-to-noise ratio and the statistical nature of the coherently detected signal at the 10.6 pm...
